You deserve a great website.
The problem
Most businesses today have a website or some other kind of online profile where customers expect—at a minimum—to be able to find basic information about the store or company. Booking an appointment, buying an item, or getting help with a transaction are arguably less critical, but welcome additions when they’re there and easy to access. Unfortunately, even when these capabilities exist, they may not be serving your customers as well as they could.
We can help
At Mad Egg Labs, the problem we’re working to solve is that far too many small business websites are hard to use and contain out-of-date information. Your customers deserve better! As a small business owner, you wear a lot of hats. You may not have a person dedicated to keeping your website up-to-date. Even if you do, if the systems that manage your content are hard to use, it’s easy to fall behind.
Your honest mechanic
Do you have an honest mechanic, someone you trust to have your best interests in mind who’s not going to overcharge you or try to convince you to get work done that you don’t need? If so, please let me know who they are because I’m a Jeep owner. 😂
Mad Egg Labs wants to be that honest mechanic for your website. As users of the web ourselves, we love going to a website and finding information that is accurate and up-to-date. We’re thrilled when we need to do a task on a website and it goes so smoothly we’re done before we know it. And we want that for your customers!
What’s wrong with the web
I only just founded Mad Egg Labs, but we bring a ton of experience to the task of solving problems for people like you. I’ve been a professional web developer since 1998. The web was much simpler back then, but its central problems have remained incredibly consistent over the last 3 decades. The following were—and still are—all too common:
- Navigating websites feels like a chance-based game. Will I get lucky on this website and find what I need quickly? Will I waste a bunch of time poking around only to leave frustrated? Who knows?!
- Is the store open on xyz holiday? Do they have any in-store events coming up? Oh, shoot, nothing about holiday hours that I can find. The last event on their online calendar is from 6 months ago. Does that mean there’s nothing coming up or just that they haven’t kept the calendar up-to-date?
- I use a screen reader (software that reads the page to me), and how the site is organized doesn’t make sense to me. Most links are labelled “here,” so I don’t know where I’ll end up when I click. Plus, sometimes my software reads “image” and I have no way to know what the image was trying to convey. I guess I’ll go somewhere else for the thing I need.
- I really wanted to take my partner to that show for our anniversary. I tried to buy tickets online, but the site wouldn’t keep me logged in. It cleared my cart, and then the show was sold out. Now what are we going to do?
Let’s make it better
As someone who’s been building websites from the beginning, I firmly believe the web is too complex and brittle. We’ve lost track of the reason small business websites exist: to provide information and facilitate transactions. A website should be reliable, straightforward to update, and easy to use for the people visiting it.
At Mad Egg Labs, we’re on a mission to simplify things so your organization’s website better serves both you and your customers. Get in touch today to find out how we can help!
